Bio

Dr. Shu-Han Yeh received her M.A. in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from National Taiwan Normal University in Taiwan.  She then went on to earn both M.A. and Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University at Albany in 2016. She joined the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures in August 2018, where she teaches all-level language classes and serves as the Language Coordinator for all Intermediate-level Chinese courses. Prior to teaching at the University of Florida, she taught Chinese language at Williams College, Brown University, and the University at Albany from 2005 to 2018.

Dr. Shu-Han Yeh is also very experienced in the summer language program directorship. She was a program co-director who led students to the UF study abroad program in Chengdu, China in 2018. Dr. Yeh also taught and coordinated the summer intensive language program in Monterey, California from 2013 to 2019.

Dr. Shu-Han Yeh was recently awarded the Great First Year Teaching Certificate, the Great Teaching Certificate, and the Great Online Teaching Certificate. Dr. Yeh’s primary areas of specialization are Chinese language curriculum design and instruction and language program coordination. She used her distance learning skills to design and teach several classes using both the online and hybrid instructional delivery methods. She has a vast knowledge of Chinese traditional and modern history and culture. She specializes in using her linguistic expertise and cultural knowledge to teach UF students to be the multi-cultural experts of the future.
