Biography

Jodie Miller is a scholar of medieval French literature whose research examines the intersections of literature, society, and systems of meaning—particularly morality, law, and politics. She received her Ph.D. in French from the University of California, Los Angeles, where her doctoral work explored the trial scene of Renart the fox in the medieval French Roman de Renart in comparison to the trial of the jackal in the classical Persian Kalila and Dimna. She is especially committed to interdisciplinary and comparative approaches that bring literary analysis into conversation with intellectual history, philosophy, religion, law, and the global circulation of literary narratives.
