French and Francophone Studies Mentorship Program

Are you minoring or majoring in French and Francophone Studies or are you considering adding a Minor or a Major?  If so, the French and Francophone Studies Mentorship Program is for you! This new program aims to help underclassmen discover the UF French and Francophone Studies program, explore career possibilities, and enhance a sense of community between students.  It also presents upperclassmen with a great leadership opportunity and with a way to further familiarize themselves with the French faculty and with the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures (LLC).

One or two mentees will be paired with a more advanced French student who will act as their mentor/tutor. You are encouraged to speak in French etc.  Various activities will be designed to enhance your involvement in the program.

In addition to meeting regularly, Mentors (and Mentee pairs) are encouraged to attend other program-sponsored events such as:

  • 1 tutorial with a student at Language studio (1317 Turlington) 1 hour / week.
  • Journée de la Francophonie (20 mars 2020)  An event to be planned together
  • Relevant Talks (as announced through the France-Florida Research Institute) http://franceflorida.clas.ufl.edu
